Concrete Recycling Plant

A concrete recycling plant from SREW Projects crushes clean concrete (demolished slabs, road pavements, precast and ready-mix rejects) into graded recycled aggregate, and pulls out the reinforcement steel as it goes. Fixed and mobile layouts are available.

Who needs a concrete recycling plant

Concrete recycling makes sense when you have a steady stream of fairly clean concrete. Typical buyers are:

  • Road contractors breaking out old concrete pavements and reusing the material in the new sub-base.
  • Precast and ready-mix concrete producers with rejected elements, test cubes and returned concrete.
  • Demolition contractors who separate concrete from other debris at source.

Because the feed is mostly concrete, the plant can skip the trommel and heavy pre-sorting a mixed-debris plant needs. If your feed is mixed rubble, soil and brick, see our construction waste recycling plant instead.

Crushing concrete: jaw plus impact

Concrete is crushed in two stages. A jaw crusher takes large slabs and breaks them to a size the secondary crusher can accept, while freeing most of the embedded steel. An impact crusher, either our hydraulic impact crusher or a horizontal shaft impact (HSI) crusher, then produces cubical recycled aggregate and knocks old mortar off the stone. Impact crushers are a good fit for concrete because it is less abrasive than granite; blow bars are the main wear part.

Getting the steel out

Reinforcement bars are the biggest operational problem in concrete recycling. A magnetic separator over the conveyor after the jaw crusher removes most loose steel, and a second magnet after the impact crusher catches what remains. Recovered steel is sold as scrap. Leave room and walkways around the jaw discharge so long bars can be removed by hand.

Fixed or mobile?

A fixed plant suits a recycling yard where concrete is brought in by truck. A mobile plant suits road and demolition jobs where the concrete is on site and hauling it away costs more than crushing it. Our mobile crusher plants include wheel-mounted, tyre-mounted (50–100 TPH, ₹60,00,000 + GST) and modular designs that can be configured with a jaw and an impact crusher.

Recycled aggregate sizes

Most concrete recycling plants produce a coarse aggregate fraction for sub-base, drainage and non-structural concrete and a fine fraction for blocks and pavers. We size the screen decks to the products your buyers accept. For costs across the whole recycling flow, read our C&D waste recycling plant cost guide.

Prices are ex-works Hyderabad plus 18% GST. Freight is quoted in writing, installation and commissioning are charged separately, and dispatch is 6–30 days from order.

Frequently asked questions

Which crusher is best for concrete recycling?

A jaw crusher for primary breaking followed by an impact crusher (hydraulic impact or HSI) for cubical recycled aggregate.

How is steel removed from concrete?

Magnetic separators over the conveyors after the jaw and impact crushers remove reinforcement steel, which is sold as scrap.

Can a concrete recycling plant be mobile?

Yes. Wheel-mounted, tyre-mounted and modular mobile plants can be configured with a jaw and an impact crusher.

What does a concrete recycling plant cost?

Machines are priced individually, for example a hydraulic impact crusher at ₹10,50,000 + GST and a jaw crusher 24x15 at ₹8,50,000 + GST. Complete plants are quoted on request.
